Course Description

The TB Program Management Intensive is a two-day, in-person training designed to equip TB program managers and individuals who support TB program management with essential skills and strategies for effective program leadership. Through expert-led sessions, participants explore key topics such as epidemiology, surveillance, contact investigation, legal considerations, data-driven decision making, and media engagement. 

Target Audience

This course is designed for public health professionals, TB program managers, and healthcare workers involved in tuberculosis control, aiming to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and leadership in TB prevention, case management, and program implementation. 

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the role of the TB program manager in the prevention and control of tuberculosis. 
  • Apply epidemiological data to support decision-making of tuberculosis control strategies.  
  • Define the roles and responsibilities of tuberculosis program managers. 
  • Identify strategies to improve data quality and completeness. 
  • Examine the legal framework governing tuberculosis control. 
  • Apply steps in designing and implementing an evaluation plan. 
  • Describe the laboratory network structure used in tuberculosis programs.  
  • Determine legal options for managing tuberculosis patients. 
  • Apply case management tools to track progress, monitor adherence, and evaluate outcomes.  
  • Identify criteria for determining infectiousness. 
  • Define the purpose and scope of contact investigations in tuberculosis control and prevention.  
  • Leverage community resources to reduce barriers to tuberculosis care.
