Course Description

This session will explore the oft-overlooked intersection between tuberculosis (TB) and mental health. Tuberculosis poses not only physical health challenges but also significantly impacts mental well-being. This webinar will examine the TB-mental health relationship through a historical lens and shed light on psychological, emotional, social, and psychopharmacological aspects of TB care and management.

Target Audience

This course is designed for allied health professionals, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, resident/fellows, and healthcare professionals working in a public healthcare setting.

  • Describe historical parallels between tuberculosis and mental illness
  • Identify drug-drug interactions of concern when prescribing antitubercular medications to patients with mental illness
